Innovative Design by Frankie Choo


Frankie Choo, like his eponymous fellow designer, Jimmy Choo, is one of an exciting new breed of product designers living and working in Asia. He completed his studies in Australia before returning to his native Kuala Lumpur where he rapidly made a name for himself as a dynamic new creative talent, heading up award-winning creative teams for some of the leading international advertising agencies operating in the region.

Frankie has worked extensively in London, Singapore and Australia producing innovative designs for a wide range of consumer products. He was Creative Director for Commerce Vision, a large web-based B2B global portal before leaving to head up M&G Audio's design division. He was nominated by Singapore's Industrial Development Authority as the leading foreign talent in this role in 1999 and 2000.

Frankie Choo's design inspiration derives from his aesthetic appreciation of natural, renewable materials, his extensive study of Art Nouveau and Art Deco styles and a deep awareness of his own Asian cultural heritage. He is responsible for the design and development of all M&G Audio's new range of DAB radio receivers.

When you meet him, you realise that Frankie is a creative dynamo, brimming with new ideas - what's more important, he knows how to turn his ideas into commercial products. He has so far successfully designed or worked on over 20 different projects, ranging from MP3 players and digital cameras to specially commissioned furniture, accessories and architectural interiors.
